The first SIPPI Mumbai practitioner group

A professional community rooted in interpersonal psychoanalysis.

Not a directory. Not only a course. A living professional framework for understanding people, relationships, and therapeutic work.

SIPPI Mumbai is rooted in interpersonal psychoanalysis — a tradition that has shaped many of the foundational ideas of modern Western psychotherapy.

Its concepts — such as transference, resistance, unconscious processes, relational patterns, interpretation, conflict, care, and the therapeutic relationship — are not marginal ideas. They are part of the conceptual foundation through which generations of therapists have learned to understand psychological life and clinical work.

SIPPI uses this tradition as a living framework: not only to study theory, but to help practitioners think more deeply about what happens between people, inside relationships, and within the therapeutic encounter.

SIPPI’s learning framework was developed by Dr. Kopel Eliezer, a social work researcher and independent interpersonal psychoanalyst. It grows out of his long-term teaching and clinical engagement with psychoanalytic thought, including a body of 100 lectures that form the basis of SIPPI’s structured learning path. The aim is not to present one person’s authority as doctrine, but to offer practitioners a coherent, evolving way of thinking with psychoanalytic concepts in clinical work.

SIPPI Mumbai brings together client referrals, continuous psychoanalytic and interpersonal learning, AI-supported professional reflection, live webinars, and a professional community — with gradual opportunities for local responsibility and leadership.

We are early. The immediate goal is simply to bring together the first small group of practitioners in Mumbai.

What SIPPI expects

SIPPI practitioners are independent practitioners. SIPPI does not control their clinical decisions or employ them as staff. In turn, practitioners are expected to:

  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Practise ethically and respectfully
  • Comply with applicable professional and legal requirements
  • Respond reliably to referrals
  • Keep availability and capacity updated
  • Participate in ongoing learning
  • Engage in supervision and professional development
  • Contribute to the health of the professional community

Which best describes you?

These are three motivations for joining — not separate products or payment plans. Whichever you choose, you’ll meet Anaya through the same application.

About SIPPI Credits

Credits are earned, never bought — there is no way to purchase them. They are not money, and they are not lead purchases; SIPPI does not sell referrals. Credits are earned through genuine participation: learning progress, webinar participation, reliable responses to referrals, accurate availability, community contribution, and local responsibility.

How credits relate to referrals

  1. 1. Fit first. Anaya first determines who is genuinely suitable for the client, clinically and interpersonally.
  2. 2. Then credits. When several practitioners are similarly suitable, credits may influence who receives more opportunities to appear among the recommended options.
  3. 3. The client chooses. The client always makes the final choice.

Credits influence opportunity, never suitability. A practitioner who isn’t right for a client is never shown, however many credits they hold. The model is Fit → Credits → Client Choice.
